my must have office paper goods
I don’t know about you, but I LOVE stationery (with an e).
Can’t get enough of notebooks, pens, pads, etc.
But in recent years I have tried to pare back my use of paper goods, and have refined my selection to just a few items.
Something that REALLY bugs me is having to source new notebooks each year. So I make sure the selection I have is something repeatable.
Here’s what I use:
my must have office paper goods

- YELLOW POST IT NOTES ( 3 SIZES)
- ok, technically these are not post its, they are from the generic dollar store and come in this brighter fluro yellow.
- I love 3 sizes and buy the large size and cut it down from 3″ x 5″ (77mm x 126mm) to 3″ x 3″ (77mmx77mm) + 2″ x 3″ (52mmx77mm)
- MUJI NOTEBOOKS
- If you’ve never been into a Muji store, you are in for a treat. I like to describe it as Japanese Ikea. The smoothness of their paper goods is exceptional.
- These are the 2 formats I use: B5 dark grey 5mm grid (large) and B6 slim light grey grid (small).
- The B6 fits in my Traveler’s notebook cover and I use it to jot daily notes
- The B5 I use for bigger tasks, and planning, as well as note taking when I am not taking notes digitally
- SCHNEIDER SLIDER PEN REFILL – 755XB
- I have used a Lamy Safari pen for years but sourcing the Lamy specific refills became super hard, so I started investigating alternatives that were easier to source.
- I probably spent hours searching for the perfect refill online for a long time, when what I should have done right way was go to an actual pen store and ask a real person.
- This little store is so hard to find, I walked past it 4 times before I found it. But the hassle was worth it. You know those conversations you have when the person you’re talking to is so clearly an expert in their field you just bask in awe at their knowledge.
- In about 5mins after I have walked in the store in Verona, Signor Manella whose family has had the store for 40 years showed me this Schneider refill and I haven’t looked back since. I use it with my Lamy with a small modification to the pen (I place a small piece of plastic in the bottom to compensate for the length of the refill).
These are my minimum paper goods for my office.
