I’m Ally – nice to meet you.

I teach quilters and surface pattern designers how to design, write and sell unique quilt patterns so they can confidently share their creativity with the world and grow a creative business they love.

I coach creative women from all over the world how to grow a fulfilling online business.

I’m originally from Australia, and I am currently based just outside Verona, Italy. I love sewing and quilting, sketching, taking photos and using digital and mixed media.

I am perennially curious and always seeking new knowledge to apply in my creativity, business and life!

once upon a time.

I am a Mechanical Engineer, who once upon a time used to work offshore on oilrigs in Indonesia and Australia.

I did training in the UAE, Scotland, Malaysia and the USA.

But there was a moment when I knew I needed to respond to the call that my creativity was making on me.

I quit my well paying oilfield job and went back to study – first Architecture then Industrial Design.

We moved countries, I had a baby, then another baby and in the midst of life I realised I wanted to create work for myself that was meaningful, that satisfied my creative focus and that allowed me to be in contact with people all over the world.

Ally Ryde – my brand – was born.

I offer creative courses to inspire others who are just beginning or expanding their own creative lives.

Focusing on quilting, I teach curious creatives how to design, write and sell unique quilt patterns so they can grow a thriving online business.

I also coach driven creative women on the practicalities of starting and growing an online business.
